Doclingo's New Experience in Smart Document Processing - Select Non-Translatable Areas, Add Dividers, and Re-Translate Paragraphs

🔍 Why Do We Need a Smarter Online PDF Editing Tool?

Traditional PDF translation tools often face a dilemma: either mechanical translations ruin the layout (e.g., formulas/trademarks are altered), or they preserve the layout at the cost of readability (bilingual mixing is hard to distinguish). Our new features - "Select Non-Translatable Areas" and "Add Dividers" - are designed to address this pain point, ensuring that professional document translations are both accurate and elegant.

✨ Feature Highlights

  1. Select Non-Translatable Areas - Precise Control Over Translation Scope

Retain Key Content: Select areas such as formulas, trademarks, and chart labels to ensure that professional symbols are not mis-translated.

Steps:

i. Upload PDF → After translation is complete, click the Online Editing button → Click Area Translation
ii. Area Selection → Hold the left mouse button and drag to select the areas that do not need translation, then click Re-Translate to complete the operation.
iii. Select Entire Page Not to Translate → Scroll to the corresponding page and click Select Entire Page Not to Translate
iv. Re-Translate → Generate a new PDF document based on the customized non-translatable areas.

  1. Add Dividers - Enhance Translation Accuracy

Visual Layering Optimization: Insert custom dividers (solid lines) between translated paragraphs to achieve a clear separation between the original text and the translation.

Steps:

i. Upload PDF → After translation is complete, click the Online Editing button → Click Area Translation
ii. Divider → Add appropriate dividers between sentences so that the AI can correctly identify and translate the corresponding paragraphs.
iii. Re-Translate → Generate a new PDF document based on the customized divided areas.

🚀 Smart Paragraph Recognition + AI Translation Engine

Traditional PDF translations often result in fragmented translations due to paragraph cutting issues. Our new feature achieves full-link precise control from analysis to output through AI paragraph recognition + next-generation translation engine + visual replacement editing.

  1. Smart Paragraph Recognition: Understanding Document Structure Like Humans

AI Layout Analysis Technology: Deeply recognizes logical blocks such as titles, body text, and lists, restoring the semantic integrity of paragraphs and thoroughly solving issues like "half-sentences being cut off" and "table text misalignment."

Dynamic Error Correction Mechanism: Automatically merges paragraphs split by columns/pages to maintain content coherence.

  1. Next-Generation AI Translation Engine: Dual Optimization of Terminology and Context

Industry-Adaptive AI Models: The AI includes terminology databases for over 20 fields such as law, medicine, and engineering, improving translation accuracy by 60%.

Context Awareness: Generates translations based on the overall semantic meaning of paragraphs (not sentence-by-sentence), avoiding ambiguity.

  1. Visual Translation Replacement: Real-Time Editing, Zero Threshold Tuning

Steps:

i. Upload PDF → After translation is complete, click the Online Editing button → Click Find and Replace
ii. Click the corresponding translated paragraph → Click the Edit icon in the upper right corner → Click AI Translation and select the corresponding translation engine to re-translate
iii. Re-Translate → The new paragraph translation content replaces the original translation, generating a new PDF document.
